JOIN IN THE EVOLUTION
TEDxLagunaBlancaSchool was so much
more than a speaking engagement. It was
a day-long intellectual carnival, with “mind
gymnastics” offe ed not just on-stage, but
throughout the event space. Students’
work also included:
• An interactive wall-size mural (p.7)
where visitors could write thoughts on
how they could evolve personally, in the
community, and in the world. The result
was a creative piece of thoughtful and
inspired art.
• A second interactive wall where the
entire community could create good
vibes—and make a diffe ence. Guests
were encouraged to write notes on the
wall of how they were willing to help or
to offer words of encouragement for those
dealing with trauma or tragedy.
• A queue of interactive booths, operated
by local organizations and businesses like
MOXI, Direct Relief, the Los Padres Forest,
and Kona Ice. A few crowd favorites: SB
Rock Gym, which set up harnesses and
hammocks for students to explore; and
SB Maritime Museum, which brought a
virtual reality headset to teach students
about the ocean.
