LAGUNA BLANCA SCHOOL
You’re an associate at Santa Barbara’s premier law
firm, Price, Postel & Parma, a devoted wife and
mother of three. What made you decide to take on
the role of president of Laguna’s Alumni Council?
When I left Boston to return to Santa Barbara in
2005,Itriedtoevaluatethethingsthatweremost
important to me that had made a big impact on my
life. As a “Laguna Lifer,” this school undoubtedly
helped shape who I have become. It means a great
deal to me to be able to give back to a school that
gave me so much. When I returned, I jumped in
and started helping with the auction, serving as the
alumni representative to the Board, and helping lead
the Planned Giving Committee.
As a Laguna parent (Cyanne ’25), with two more
on the way: Maritt (4) and Catherine (2), I have a
vested interest in ensuring that the school excels
and stays strong for future generations. In addition,
I believe it’s very important to teach my children
to give back and to try and make a difference with
organizations they care about. Now that they’re
getting older, they can see me putting in the time and
energy to make their school an even more amazing
place to grow, learn, and blossom. That’s a very
rewarding experience.
What’s it like returning to Laguna as a parent?
It’s amazing to come full circle and see my daughter
play on the same lawn ... perform in the same theater
... and learn from some of the same teachers I had
while studying here. It’s helped me appreciate my
education and time spent at Laguna in an entirely
new way. In fact, after I graduated, the further
removed I was from Laguna, the more I realized how
unique and valuable my experience here had been.
The relationships I developed with my teachers were
incredibly special to me and played an integral role
in shaping my academic path and, ultimately, my
career choice. I often think of my former English
teacher, Dr. Larry Miller, and how he continued to
serve as a mentor. As a parent, I look forward to my
children experiencing those kinds of relationships
and becoming the very best people they can be,
thanks to the nurturing, supportive, and encouraging
environment here at Laguna.

This year, Laguna welcomes
