SUMMER 2014

15

This year, Laguna launched a new summer day camp, allowing students ages
4-10 to experience a little Laguna magic throughout the month of August.
The camp was open to children from throughout the Santa Barbara area,
offering the broader community a glimpse of Laguna’s world-class faculty and
student enrichment opportunities.

“Our campus is most vibrant when it’s enjoyed by our young students,”

says Head of Lower School Andy Surber. “It’s been a joy to plan and
experience a swell of energy during the summer months, thanks to our camp
visitors and all of our amazing faculty and student counselors who made it
possible.”

Throughout the two-week camp, students were grouped into age-based

cohorts and took part in a wide variety of activities including arts and crafts,
outside sports and games, technology, LeGO® engineering, and music. With
so much to do and explore, it was a memorable experience for all involved.

“My hope is that Laguna’s summer camp becomes a new and beloved

Santa Barbara tradition,” Andy says. “Gorgeous summer weather, a beautiful
campus, amazing students, enthusiastic teachers, and lots of fun—how
could you go wrong?”

FUN IN THE SUN!
