AUSTIN ABRAMS graduated from Pomona
College in May and will be continuing his
studies in pursuit of a Ph.D. in Chemistry at
UC Santa Barbara this fall. He looks forward to
investigating polymer synthesis and application
with Assistant Professor Chris Bates in the
Materials Department.
JAKE BARTLEIN graduated from Roger
Williams University in Bristol, RI, with a
bachelor’s in business management and a minor
in graphic design. He was captain of the school’s
nationally-ranked sailing team for three years,
and spent this past summer working as a sailing
coach in Watch Hill, RI.
IZZY GREER recently illustrated a children’s
book, Buzzy and the Redrock Canyons, which is
the first of a series of books from Lucky Penny
Press collection, National Parks for Kids. The
book was written by Melissa Marsted—former
LBS College Counselor—and follows a buzzy
bee as he travels across Utah, introducing
readers to the magic of nature at “The Mighty
Five”—Arches, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef,
Bryce Canyon, and Zion National Parks. There
are six books planned for the series that will
cover more than half of our 59 National Parks.
ERIN DUNN is starting her fourth year of
medical school at the University of Miami
Miller School of Medicine. She was recently
honored as an inductee to the Gold Humanism
Honors Society (GHHS) at the school. The
GHHS recognizes medical students, residents,
and faculty who practice patient-centered care
by modeling integrity, excellence, compassion,
altruism, respect, and empathy, and who serve as
role models, mentors, and leaders in medicine.
JULIAN HARAKE completed his master’s in
architecture at Princeton University this spring.
He went to UC Berkeley for his undergraduate
degree.
DR. CLARA MORA is now a dentist living in
Santa Barbara.
RYAN HARAKE earned his master’s in
biomedical engineering from UC Davis in
2013 and is now working in Camarillo, CA at a
biomedical company.
EMMA PORTERFIELD received her Psy.D. in
Clinical Psychology from Alliant International
University in San Diego. Emma is now working
with kids with mental illness, trauma histories,
and juvenile justice involvement at the Youth
Opportunity Center in Muncie, Indiana as a
postdoctoral fellow.
ROBYN PARKER (RICHARDS) and her
husband Jess Parker welcomed baby girl Paisley
Noelle Parker on December 11, 2015 weighing
six pounds two ounces, and measuring 18 inches
long. Robyn and Jess live in Santa Barbara, where
Robyn works as a Program Officer for Hutton
Parker Foundation.
GRACE AUSTIN recently opened her new
restaurant, Little Kitchen, in Santa Barbara.
Embracing her culinary passion and creative flair,
she has created a mouthwatering menu focused on
modern comfort food. Who can say “no” to bành
mí sliders, cheeseburger egg rolls, or Southwest
chicken tikka masala?
