STUDENTS GIVE BACK ON MS SERVICE DAY

Students in grades 5-8 participated in a day of service last Friday, ranging from a beach clean-up and construction projects to working with our kindergarteners at the Lower School campus. Their activities were both educational and inspirational, and best of all, students enjoyed the experience.

For one service project, the eighth grade class planned, fundraised, and transformed a space on the Middle School campus as their lasting contribution. "The Corner" was created by the class of 2020 to be an area for Middle School students now and in the future to come together and socialize in a beautiful environment. Be sure to check out the above video for a glimpse of the eighth graders transforming a corner of the Middle School campus. "It was great seeing my whole class working together on something to give back to the school," said one eighth grader.

Thank you to all the Middle School students and teachers for your hard work and effort!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE BOY'S VOLLEYBALL TEAM FOR AN AMAZING SEASON!

Reprinted from Noozhawk:

Laguna Blanca’s boys volleyball team made history going all the way to the CIF Division 5 Finals last weekend. After three tight games, the Owls lost to the Damien Spartans.

“They were beatable but we just couldn’t get into our fourth gear,” first-year head coach Jon Roberts said, despite an all-around performance from senior Pierce O’Donnell '16, tallying 8 assists, 6 digs and three blocks for the Owls.

Senior outside hitter Philip Fauntleroy '16 led the Owls' attack with 13 kills and three blocks in the contest. Chris Costantino '16 and Henry Farrell '17 combined for 10 kills and four blocks.

AN EXAMINATION OF LONG TERM ARTIST DEVELOPMENT

Laguna Blanca Art Teacher Dug Uyesaka will show his work in a very special exhibit this Friday at the Arts Fund of Santa Barbara (205-C Santa Barbara Street), featuring some of Santa Barbara's most accomplished, lifelong professionals in the visual arts. Dug is one of eight artists who will each exhibit one current work alongside one vintage work that is at least 20 years old. The show was conceived of and curated by Metrov to examine how the artists' style, vision, and content may or may not have evolved over time.

Make plans to experience an unprecedented perspective of Central California's true Fine Arts achievements this Friday, and while you're at it, enjoy the whole Funk Zone Art Walk the same night!
